Astrology: The last weeks of summer…

September 8, 2005

By Arlan Wise

It wasn't a very easy summer. The chart indicated that it would be hard, the ruler of the chart is sitting next to Saturn. Many people heard bad news: money is a worry as gas and oil prices go up, it was hot, and there is the drought that makes the Island look dry and crispy. It was a summer to stay home in the security of your backyard. Reality (Saturn) interfered with ideal summer days and having fun.

On Monday, August 28, the day of the hurricane, Michael Lutin, wrote on his web site (www.michaellutin.com), "Water is unpredictable."

This has been his mantra of Uranus in Pisces. Once again we saw that truth as the Virgo sun came up to oppose Uranus and the levees of New Orleans ruptured. As with the tsunami, there is a great need for help, service and compassion, qualities symbolized by Pisces. Do what you can to help. Be grateful and generous.

Thursday, Sept. 8 Moon in Scorpio. Today is a day for introspection. You can easily diagnose the problems you and others are having. Don't let your moods spill over onto other people. It's a day to dig for information and find missing materials. Spend time alone and write in your journal. Do tomorrow's work today.

Friday, Sept. 9 Moon VC Scorpio, enters Sagittarius 10:03 pm. It's another void-of-course moon all day. Your actions will produce unexpected results. Use the energy for subjective and spiritual matters. Let your mind roam into new areas. Take the day off and start the weekend early if you can. Venus and Chiron spar to add friction to your relationship. It's important to avoid self-pity.

Saturday, Sept. 10 Moon in Sagittarius. Get outdoors and have a great day. Go camping, or just spend the night in the backyard. Find some friendly sports competition to engage in. Do the outdoor things you never got a chance to do this summer. Expand your knowledge by reading or listening to a lecture. Plan your winter trip.

Sunday, Sept. 11 Moon in Sagittarius, VC 12:52 pm. Save the papers and resting for the afternoon. Take care of business, phone calls, and e-mail in the morning. It's Grandparents Day. Venus enters Scorpio and your love life will become more difficult. You have to be careful about hurting feelings now.

Monday, Sept. 12 Moon in Capricorn. This is a wonderful moon to start the workweek. You'll be able to work hard and long and stay on task. Set your goals for the week and you'll be able to accomplish them. Set your career goals for the year. Apply for that new job. Don't waste today's excellent energy for getting work done.

Tuesday, Sept. 13 Moon in Capricorn, VC 2:22 pm. Get to work early and work doubletime as the day's productivity is cut short by the VC moon. The afternoon becomes a time for finishing what you've set into motion. You can check up on old orders and business calls that never got answered.

Wednesday, Sept. 14 Moon in Aquarius. You'll face challenges today as the sun squares off with Pluto. The facts of the matter conflict with your big ideas. Can you make your vision real or is it too idealistic? Watch out for power struggles, don't get sucked into someone's ego trip. There's a serious tone to the day, it's not a day for giggles and fun.

Thursday, Sept. 15 Moon in Aquarius, VC 4:23 pm. Write down the ideas that have come to you this week. Open up your mind and think big picture. Find a way to become involved in a community cause. Send a donation to a charity that will help the people in the south who are in need.

Friday, Sept. 16 Moon in Pisces. You will question your beliefs today or find that someone causes you to defend them. Let your intuition be your guide. Continue to help as much as you can to relieve the suffering of those who are now homeless in the south. Test your ESP and do a divination.

Saturday, Sept. 17 Moon in Pisces. This full moon is the most spiritual and otherworldly one of the year. Sit by water and meditate. Contemplate the beauty and the destructiveness of water. This is a day for great healing. You will feel powerful feelings that need to be expressed. Let your secrets out and let go of them. Quiet your mind and listen for wisdom.

Sunday, Sept. 18 Moon in Aries. Venus is busy today as she deals with both Saturn and Uranus. Her contact with Saturn shows you the stark reality of your relationship and lets you know what you love best. Uranus tempts you with someone or something new and tells you to put more excitement into your relationship. Decide what's best for you, it's a day to feel self-centered.

Monday, Sept. 19 Moon in Aries, VC 6:36 pm. It's an active day when you can make your self interest a priority. This is the day to assert yourself if you need to, to stand up for yourself in a situation where you need to speak out. Watch your temper, as it will be easy to go over the top and lose it.

Tuesday, Sept. 20 Moon in Taurus. Mercury enters Libra and gives you skill in calming hurt feelings. He helps you find a middle way to compromise. Enjoy today and tomorrow's earthy energy, it's the last you'll feel it for a while. Take care of your garden and houseplants. Put up food to store for the winter. A positive sun-Chiron connection gives you healing energy to use in a practical way.

Wednesday, Sept. 21 Moon in Taurus. Shop for winter supplies. Stock up on what will keep you comfortable, warm, and well fed. Pamper your body with some bodywork. Forget the diet and indulge in a gourmet dinner. Make love in the afternoon. Relax into your sensuality.

Thursday, Sept. 22 Moon in Taurus, VC from 12:41 pm until 1:07 pm when it enters Gemini. The sun enters Libra and the Autumnal Equinox occurs at 6:24 pm. Today is the last day of summer. The energy is unstable as the season changes. You'll feel the day quicken in the afternoon; save your communications for then. Have a serious talk with your partner.
