  • Mike Wallace: At this time of his life
Mike Wallace is in his Vineyard Haven home overlooking the harbor - a setting that looks like a painter's canvas of summer. Looking thin and a bit fragile, he itemizes the aftermath of the triple bypass surgery he had in January: a loss of mobility, speech, responsiveness, the need for rehabilitation and daily physical therapy.
  • The Last Word : Gossip girls
There is a car commercial that invites the viewer to "tell better stories," suggesting that if you purchase this particular model, you'll find yourself on the road to adventure. You'll stop being dull old you and enjoy the life of a carefree youth and become the raconteur everyone invites to their parties.

  • The Art Of Allen Whiting
"I try not to make a big deal about the fact that I work on the Vineyard," West Tisbury painter Allen Whiting says. Though the statement may seem ironic - Mr. Whiting is known for his oils on canvas that capture the essence of Island landscapes - his work boasts a maturity and a unique style that prevents its appeal from being limited to an Island audience.
  • Cindy Kane : Concepts of art, war, journalism
Like with so much of Cindy Kane's work, "The Helmet Project" is a powerful intellectual statement as well as an artistic expression.
  • The Human Landscapes Of Vincent Frye
During the course of his 30-year career as a professional photographer, Vincent Frye has taken commercial pictures for such diverse companies and organizations as Capitol Records, the Pennsylvania Lottery, American Cancer Society, and Kool Cigarettes.
