MVY radio announces
staff promotions
MVY Radio announced last week that two familiar Island radio personalities
had assumed larger responsibilities in the company.
Joe Gallagher, MVY radio president, announced that Barbara Dacey,
station manager and program director, would become the director of
worldwide programming; and PJ Finn, production director and assistant
music director, would become MVY program director. The changes are
effective May 2.
With the tremendous growth mvyradio is experiencing with its
online audience and the many new products and projects weve
undertaken to serve that audience, moving Barbara into a position
of more global oversight, and PJ taking responsibility for the day-to-day
programming of MVY will enable us to continue to grow mvyradio,
said Mr. Gallagher.
According to a company press release, Ms. Daceys new responsibilities
will include responsibility for several new initiatives, including
mymvy, a new online, on-demand product mvyradio recently
introduced, syndication of certain programs, production of mvyradio
concerts and overseeing mvyradio on the road.
She will continue to host a daily show, as well as host and produce
mvys new music show, Uncharted Waters.
MVY radio broadcasts over 92.7 WMVY and is heard by listeners on Marthas
Vineyard, Cape Cod, Nantucket and the southeast coast of Massachusetts,
and at 96.5 FM in Newport, R.I., and mvyradio.com on the Internet.
Dukes Academy holds seminar on changes in real estate law
A new law affecting many facets of real estate brokerage relationships
becomes effective on July1. The Dukes Academy, a private school offering

for real estate licensees on May 5 to explain the new regulations
and disclosure requirements.
The seminar will include information on the new approach to real estate
office policies that are mandated by these newer brokerage relationships
and spotlight changes in the role of the seller when electing to encourage
the sellers agent to cooperate with subagents.
Pre-registration is required. For more information, call Dukes Academy
at 508-696-1900, or visit the schools web site at www.dukesacademy.com.
