The Vineyard Haven Band, a staple of Island summer entertainment, played last Sunday, August 8, at Owen Park.

The Vineyard Haven Band performed their third of four concerts at Owen Park last Sunday evening, August 1 . Guests arrived by 8 pm to enjoy an array of patriotic music outside free of charge. The band, which recently completed its 140th season, is composed of both amateurs and professionals. Band members boast a wide range of ages as well as professions, from local farmers to laborers and hoteliers. Their final concert at Owen Park will be held on August 15, at 8 pm. In the event of rain, it will be held the following Monday night.
Other concert dates and locations are on Wednesday, August 18 during Illumination Night at the Oak Bluffs Tabernacle at 7:30 pm (rain date: August 19); August 20 in Ocean Park from 8 to 9 pm, preceding the fireworks; and on August 22 from 8 to 9 pm in Ocean Park.
