Lunchtime one
rainy day last week found Richard Paradise out hanging posters for
the latest round of movies offered by the Silver Screen Film Society.
Mr. Paradise is surely the Island's number-one cineaste, probably
responsible for bringing more non-commercial movie events to the Vineyard
than any other individual.

In
Print: One Book, One Island seeks votes
Island librarians
and booksellers have announced the candidates for this year's One
Book, One Island program and are asking local readers to vote for
their first choices. There will be one adult selection and one for
young readers, taken from two separate lists of potential titles.
The winning books will be announced soon and Islanders will have two
months to read before follow-up events are held in early April.

The deadline for all Calendar submissions is
every Monday at noon for Thursdays issue. This deadline
is firm. It is the sole discretion of The Timess editorial
staff to determine if and how an entry is listed in the Directory
of Information. Remember that The Times also accepts paid
advertisements for events: 508-693-6100.
Submitting
a Calendar Listing:
Include the name of the event, date and time,
location, short description, admission or fee charged (specify
if its free), and contact phone number. If the event
is a benefit, please include the name of the sponsor/s and
where proceeds will go.
All information must be submitted in writing only. Telephone
submissions cannot be accepted. Incomplete submissions delay
the editorial process and will not be published. All submissions
are subject to editing.

Point Walk

Two miles of scenic shoreline and over 140 acres of dunes and maritime
habitat have been protected by a conservation restriction. Join us
for this rare opportunity to visit Squibnocket Point.
Free to members of The Trustees of Reservations; $10 for non-members.
