The show may not have succeeded on the Great White Way, but at the Performing Arts Center "Mack and Mabel" was a hit. Last weekend’s high school drama department production was a singing, dancing peek at the 1920s when silent films and slapstick comedy were the bee’s knees.

Under the direction of Kate Murray and musical direction of Dan Murphy, the show came alive. Musical numbers "I Won’t Send Roses" and "Time Heals Everything" were memorable. The real-life characters (Mack Sennett, Mabel Normand, and Fatty Arbuckle) didn’t live happily ever after, but the number "Happy Ending" closed the show with a tiny bit of hope.
