A hearty pot-luck dinner and a warm, friendly atmosphere draw a crowd of Islanders to the First Congregational Church of West Tisbury every Wednesday evening for a community supper. Everyone brings a special dish, and it’s a comfortable, social time. Children play nearby as guests chat with friends and make new acquaintances. The suppers have been held all winter, and the last one is scheduled for March 30.

With all eyes on their director, Rebecca Barca-Tinus' students fill the Old Whaling Church with the sound of violins.

The Old Whaling Church in Edgartown was filled with sunshine and the sound of music from the strings of the students of Rebecca Barca-Tinus. The violin concert last Sunday highlighted the talents of Island string players. The varied program included classical pieces by Vivaldi, J.S. Bach, Paganini, and Handel -- as well as folk songs and traditional tunes.
