Astrology
The serenity of spring...
May 12, 2005

By Arlan Wise

Taurus holds sway over most of May and offers the gifts of stability and serenity. Life wants to move slowly now; it is truly the time to stop and smell the flowers. Taurus is the earthiest of the earth signs, the most fixed of the fixed signs. It is a time when Mother Nature speaks to us to tell us of the wisdom of the elements. Give yourself the time to sit and listen to her. Try to imitate Ferdinand the bull under his cork tree.

Mars is in the sign of Pisces during May. Aside from a brief tangle with Uranus, his warrior energy calms down. This gives an opportunity to make peace with those people and things in your life that create tension and conflict. Use this energy to enhance your meditation practice.

Thursday, May 12
Moon in Cancer. Mercury enters Taurus, which slows down your thinking and brings it back to earth. You'll be able to access more common sense. You can communicate with the plants today if you quiet down and listen. There is an opportunity to find an original solution to a complicated problem.

Friday, May 13 Moon in Cancer. Regardless of the superstitious tone to the day, there is the stability to finish up your week's work. You'll be able to plod along and not get distracted. Call Mom and see how she's doing. Cook dinner for the family and enjoy old happy memories. It feels good to stay home.

Saturday, May 14 Moon in Leo. This is the moon that wants you to have a fun weekend. Spend it with your kids; spend it with your lover. Find time to be creative and override any creative blocks you feel. Express your loving nature in as many ways as you can. Try not to dwell on old disappointments.

Sunday, May 15
Moon in Leo. Mars joins Uranus, which disturbs today's harmony. Think of a storm raging on the ocean as the metaphor for the day. You will feel your emotions get unsettled. Be cautious when using or when in the vicinity of electricity or any dangerous fluids. Be careful when near or on the ocean.

Monday, May 16 Moon VC Leo, enters Virgo 1:46 pm. Be patient and wait until the afternoon to start new work. You can then work with greater efficiency and be very practical. Work on tangible matters. Work in your garden. Do damage control from yesterday's explosions.

Tuesday, May 17
Moon in Virgo. This is a lovely day. Get outside and enjoy it. The two planets of abundance, Jupiter and Venus, dance together to bring love and pleasure to you. They want to shower blessings down on you, if you will receive them. Give of yourself so you may receive.

Wednesday, May 18 Moon in Virgo, VC 9 pm. The wonderful work energy continues. Your mind is open to new insights and ideas and you will be able to use them. Uranus shakes up your serenity and may suddenly end something you love. If your relationship is stagnant, you will have to take action to bring it back to life. You will meet someone who will change your life with his/her words.

Thursday, May 19 Moon in Libra. Neptune begins his retrograde phase. It will feel like a foggy day, no matter the external weather. Your illusions and projections will cloud the reality of the situation. Watch for buried, neglected feelings to arise. It is an auspicious day for spiritual pursuits.
