Shanley play opens playhouse season
An explosive play, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, by playwright
John Patrick Shanley will open in previews on Wednesday, June 15,
at the Vineyard Playhouse.
Shanley won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for his play Doubt;
the play also won four Tony Awards last weekend.
Danny and the Deep Blue Sea explores the lives of Danny
and Roberta, two tragic figures. Dannys temper has earned him
the nickname of the beast. Roberta is a single mother with a dreary
future. The play contains strong language and adult themes.
Danny and the Deep Blue Sea continues Tuesday through
Saturday, until July 2. For more information, visit
www.vineyardplayhouse.org or call 508-696-6300.
