Visions bright and sunny
Garnishing the walls at Dragonfly Gallery are the striking still lifes
and botanical collage, the work of Julie Y. Baker Albright and Peggy
Turner Zablotny, respectively. This Saturday, the gallery hosts a
reception for artists between 4 and 7 pm. The show continues through
July 10. Dont miss it!

Londons Japanese Art
Life-like fish impressions, or gyotaku, the work of Steve London,
pair with the popular photographs of John Charbonneau this weekend
at Cousen Rose Gallery. A reception with music by Peter MacLean will
be held on Saturday, July 2, from 7 to 9 pm.
Stop by 71 Circuit Avenue, Oak Bluffs through July 8 to view this

Art Blast
Art like you havent seen it will surprise you at Old Sculpin
Gallery this Sunday. A diverse collection and an unusual installation
will no doubt be the focus of attention and conversation at the artists
reception from 6 to 8 pm.
Everything from stone carvings, abstract paintings, and collage to
monotypes, portraits, and digital works will be featured. And both
established and emerging Island artists are represented: Joan Newland,
Sheila Hoerle, Ben Scott, Ben Cabot, Marston Clough, and Virginia
Besse.
Mark your calendars. The show runs through July 8. Old Sculpin is

Tell Me About Freedom
Artists Traeger di Pietro, JB Lamont, Jon Zindel, and Louisa Gould
explore the meaning of freedom through their work, featured at Louisa
Gould Gallery through July 14. Visit this Friday from 5 to 8 pm to
meet the artists and note their expressions of creative liberty.
The gallery is located on 13 Beach Street Extension in Vineyard Haven.

Directions in Time
Ever wonder where youre going? Island artist Cindy Kane explores
her world by combining a love of maps with her role in child rearing.
Her work will be on view at Carol Craven Gallery this weekend, in
addition to the sculptures of Benjamin Cabot. A reception will be
held on Saturday, July 2, from 5 to 7 pm, and the artists work
will be featured through July 15.
Carol Craven Gallery is located at 29 Breakdown Lane, off Holmes Hole

Shop Talk
The multi-talented John Holladay will be at Shaw Cramer Gallery on
Friday evening to discuss painting in grisaille watercolor and acrylic
on canvas. As a painter, art teacher, and graphic illustrator, he
will share techniques and inspirations. His talk is the first in a
series featuring various gallery artists, but you neednt be
an artist to attend. Stop by at 6:30 pm. Shaw Cramer Gallery is on
