Island
inspires Firehouse four
The Vineyard landscape provides inspiration for the four artists showing
at the Firehouse Gallery in Oak Bluffs July 28. Gloria Burkin,
a nature artist enamored by the effect of light on the Vineyard country-
and seaside, shows her luminous paintings.
Printmaker Sheila M. Fane combines linoleum block prints and monotyes
to depict Island landscapes and still-life scenes. Her pieces range
from panoramic to tiny and intimate, all with a Vineyard theme.
Also showing are two digital photographers, Kylee Paige Amaral and
Evelyn Jo Hebert. While Ms. Amaral focuses on serene landscapes and
creative floral designs, Ms. Hebert celebrates the Island by capturing
the colors, patterns, and textures of the Vineyard in unique and interesting
ways, appealing to all ages.
