Achievements August 11, 2005 Alexander B. Baynes Alexander Brighton Baynes recently completed 12 weeks of training in Officer Candidate School at Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida, finishing fourth in a class of 36. He was commissioned in a ceremony on Friday, July 1. Baynes is a 2000 graduate of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. He received a degree in engineering physics from Cornell University in 2004. Ensign Baynes has been assigned to Aviation School in Pensacola, where he will be trained as a Naval Flight Officer. He is the son of Leslie and Judy Baynes of Edgartown.
