Jazz in OB
Saturday night the Alvin Terry Trio will be performing at The Exchange, the intimate club-like venue on Dukes County Ave. in Oak Bluffs.
Rodney Ward has been filling the Exchange with top-notch jazz musicians, and this concert won't disappoint. Tickets, available at the door, are $18 and the seating is limited so get there early. The concert starts at 8 pm. The Exchange is at 116 Dukes County Ave.
Looking to fill its pages
Martha's Vineyard Writing, a twice-yearly journal showcasing Island writing and poetry, is calling for submissions of poetry, essays, stories, articles, reviews, or more.

Sugarbowl's debut
Tonight at the Ritz Café, the Island's newest rock trio will debut. Members Kim Hilliard, Slim Bob, and Chris Seidel will be playing Ms. Hilliard's original tunes and also cover some blues favorites.

Featherstone Center for the Arts has a sweet tooth. Do you? If you love chocolate, the second annual Chocolate Festival is calling you. This weekend the center will explore the Art of Chocolate through sculptures, demonstrations, and of course tasting.
Islanders will recognize confections by Cakes by Liz, Black Dog Bakery, Scottish Bakehouse, Chilmark Chocolates, and Murdick's Fudge. Also on display and for sampling will be chocolate covered cranberries, almond butter crunch, delicacies from L'Etoile in Edgartown, and a 10-pound chocolate bar will be going to a lucky winner.
The festival runs Oct. 8, 9, 10, from 1 to 4 pm; admission is $5. A preview party will be held on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 pm; admission $25.
