The Martha's Vineyard Regional High School culinary team won second place in the hot foods category at the 13th annual Culinary Exposition held at Newbury College in Brookline earlier this year.
The Island students on the team were Brian Dube, Noah Scheffer, Nica Sylvia, Adam Lanoir, Rebecca Haley, and Ryan Brennan, lead by teacher Jack O'Malley.

Joseph Tierney of Vineyard Haven attended the East Coast Summit on Hunger and Homelessness held at the University of Massachusetts, Boston The summit was organized by the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness. Mr. Tierney is a student at Merrimack College studying civil engineering.

Bethany Pennington of West Tisbury, a freshman at the regional high school, attended the National Young Leaders State Conference in Boston. The conference included students from all over New England. The four-day curriculum focuses on leadership techniques.
Ms. Pennington received financial support to attend the conference from the Rotary Club of Martha's Vineyard.

Perry Dripps and Henry Peacor have been named to the honors list at Tabor Academy in Marion. Perry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Dripps of Chilmark. Henry is the son of Ms. M.L. Peacor of Vineyard Haven.

Emily A. Diamond, an eleventh grade student at Phillips Exeter Academy, has earned honors for the winter term.
