On April 23 the Tisbury Senior Center honored their volunteers with a special luncheon and presentation. Selectman Tristan Israel joined center director Joyce Stiles-Tucker in thanking the volunteers for their many hours of service.

The luncheon, prepared by Louis's Café in Vineyard Haven, included fruit and cheese appetizers, carrot soup and clam chowder, three varieties of sandwiches, and a chocolate layer cake.

Ms. Stiles-Tucker said, "You (volunteers) help me in a lot of ways. You are a big part of our organization. You make my job such a joy." She also took a moment to remember Grace Smith, who died this year, saying, "She did so many great things in our community."

Each volunteer left with an armful of gifts and the feeling of being very much appreciated.
