Dan and Barbara Harnen are now enjoying a visit from their granddaughter Kaylee Harnen, who comes from Canonsburg, Penn. She brought her mother, Jane, and will be joined by her father, Mark, and her brother Kyle to celebrate the Fourth. Then Kaylee will go on to camp in Canada before returning to the Island in August.

Leslie Stark's program on Appreciation of Jazz has only one more week to go. No one sat still, toes were tapping and fingers were rapping. His audience at the Senior Center has been charmed not only by the glorious music, but also by Leslie's evident delight in sharing his knowledge and some of the recordings in his collection.

Lagoon Pond area musicians will share their talents to benefit the Lagoon Pond Association on Friday, July 7. A combination of professionals and amateurs will present classical and pop music to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the internationally known musicians' colony at Innisfail. The hotel burned, but three homes from that era still stand. The evening of music, called Lagoon Lyric, will be held at 6 pm at the home of the Buttericks, 359 Barnes Road, Oak Bluffs. The performers are Peter R. Boak and Philip Dietterich on piano, Jan Hyer on cello, sopranos Pamela Butterick and Annie Palches, and tenor Kristopher Hauck.
