Stroll through Edgartown art

Don your prettiest walking shoes and head to the Edgartown Fine Art Dealers Association's first Gallery Stroll of the season tonight, Thursday, July 13, 6 to 8 pm. Each of the eight participating galleries, located within two blocks of one another will hold artist receptions. Mark your calendars for the second stroll on Thursday, Aug. 17.

Up-Island Bronze

Sculptor Ikuko Burns presents a collection entitled "Memories in Bronze" throughout the summer at the Campbell/Douglas Rainbow Farm off South Road, just past the West Tisbury line in Chilmark. Leslie Baker's light and color

The Shaw Cramer Gallery presents "Voices of Light," oil paintings by Island artist Leslie Baker, July 14 through 27. The soft abstract landscapes feature subtleties of color and play of light. Ms. Baker builds layers of colors with combinations of delicate and bold brushwork, with attention to light and shadow. She is also a portrait artist in watercolor, and children's book writer/illustrator.

Art of glass and metal

Adam Wiedmann's contemporary stainless steel sculptures and hand-blown and sculpted glass wall pieces by Vermont artist Jen Violette are on display at the Belushi-Pisano Gallery beginning July 13. Gyotaku, watercolors, and acrylics

A new show at the Cousen Rose Gallery in Oak Bluffs features Steve London's Gyotaku, or the Japanese art of fish impressions. Joining Mr. London will be Lynn Hoeft with her watercolors, and Louise Minks showing acrylics on canvas. Ocean art on the harbor

The Louisa Gould Gallery on Vineyard Haven harbor presents its fourth Nautical Show through July 25. The works of 10 different artists, drawn together to praise the sea, are featured. The themed show explores the relationships forged by New Englanders with the maritime world. 508-693-7373.

Oyster Bar art

There will be a reception for artist Anita Rodrigues at the Oyster Bar and Grill this Sunday, July 16, from 4 to 6 pm. The restaurant is located at the upper end of Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs. 508-693-6600.

Edward Hewett in Chilmark
