Chappy fair

Get your children and dogs ready this Saturday for the 7th annual Chappaquiddick Community Center's country fair. Held from 3 to 6 pm, the fair will include pony rides, games, and a barbeque with delicious summer food such as pulled pork, burgers and hot dogs. There will be a dog show from 5:30 to 6 pm, with prizes from the Massachusetts State Lottery and the Farmer's Almanac. There will also be a fire department hose demonstration. The fair, free of charge, will be held rain or shine.

Benches are back

The Oak Bluffs Park Commissioners and the Friends of Oak Bluffs would like you to know that park benches are available once again to buy. They are priced at $500, which includes the plaque. All proceeds go to the Friends of Oak Bluffs. For more information, call Priscilla Sylvia at 508-693-0563 or e-mail her at phjelm@gis.net.

Volunteers needed

The Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands Money Management program is looking for volunteers to help their Vineyard clients. The program is a free service designed to assist eligible seniors who are at least 60 years old. Volunteers will help with in-home money management services such as bill paying, budget developing, writing checks, and balancing checkbooks. Volunteers should have some experience in financial management, be detail-oriented, and enjoy working with older adults. For more information, call program manager Jerry Haley at 1-800-244-4630 ext. 156.
