Artful Sundays

Sunday mornings are reserved for art at West Tisbury's Grange Hall, where the Vineyard Artisans Festivals are held from 10 am to 2 pm. Look for the Mad Potter, who features outdoor sculpture, or Debra Gaines, who shows fine art photography. They are among the many artists and craftspeople that show their work weekly, rain or shine, through Oct. 1. There's free parking and no admission charge. For more information, visit vineyardartisans.com.

The Underworld of Art

This Sunday, Sept. 10, Featherstone Center for the Arts hosts an opening for its newest show: "Underworld of Art on Martha's Vineyard: Video, Painting, Sculpture." The reception will be from 4 to 6 pm; the show runs through Oct. 4.

Featherstone is off Barnes Road in Oak Bluffs, one-quarter mile north of the four-way stop. Call 508-693-1850 for more information.

West Tisbury painters

Enos Ray and Kitty Murphy will hold a reception on Sunday, Sept. 10, from 4 to 7 pm at the Stan Murphy Gallery on South Road in Chilmark.

Mr. Ray is known for his vivid African-American jazz series and Southern landscapes. Ms. Murphy, daughter of the late Stanley Murphy, will exhibit surrealist paintings of Vineyard scenes and also show her new collection of jewelry. Call 508-693-7178 for more information.
