Neil Simon play opens soon

The Island Theatre Workshop will present Neil Simon's "Lost in Yonkers," opening on Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Katharine Cornell Theatre in Vineyard Haven. Director Lee Fierro and her cast are currently rehearsing the play, which won a Pulitzer Prize for Mr. Simon in 1991 and is considered by many to be his best work.

The play is about two young boys unwillingly living with their grandmother. The offbeat characters and the dysfunctional family dynamics are a departure from the usual comic-farce style of Mr. Simon's earlier work. "Lost in Yonkers," 7:30 pm, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Nov. 2, 3, 4. Also Thursday and Friday, Nov. 9 and 10. Matinees at 2:30 pm Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4 and 5, and Sunday, Nov. 12.
