Music from our schools

Tonight there will be a winter concert at the Performing Arts Center featuring high school students. The music department concert will feature the jazz band, orchestra, choruses, the concert band and more. Show your support for music in the schools.

The concert begins at 7 pm and it's free.

A year to celebrate

The Belushi Pisano Gallery on Vineyard Haven will be one year old tomorrow, Dec. 15. They will celebrate with a party from 5 to 8 pm and by donating 15 percent of all sales in December to Martha's Vineyard Community Services.

The Second Chance Foundation, a philanthropic organization, opened the gallery, which features fine art, sculpture, glass, furniture, jewelry, and more. The foundation is now accepting applications for this year's awards.

The Solstice Singers will perform the "Noel Nouvelet" at the Woods Hole Community Center this weekend.

Solstice songs

A holiday production of "Noel Nouvelet" by the Solstice Singers will be presented at the Woods Hole Community Center this weekend. Joining the singers will be the music trio Passacaglia on lute, recorder, krumhorn, concertina, and percussion.

The show is directed by Lore Loftfield DeBower, with stage direction by Mark LeCalsi and Michele Colley-Whittier. In the spirit of the Renaissance, the show will include music, poetry, and dance.

"Noel Nouvelet," Friday, Dec. 15, 7:30 pm and Saturday, Dec. 16, 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm, Woods Hole Community Center, 68 Water Street. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, or $13 for seniors and students. For more information, call 508-548-3659.

Bah humbug

A staged reading of "A Christmas Carol" will be held on Sunday, Dec. 17, at 3 pm at the Unitarian-Universalist Society on Main Street in Vineyard Haven.

Get into the true Christmas spirit with this Dickens classic. The event is free, with donations accepted.
