The first of three forums hosted by the Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society focused on sources and varieties of seeds. Led by expert growers Abigail Higgins (The Times' "Garden Notes" columnist), Thalia Scanlan (COMSOG president), Roxanne Kapitan (Vineyard Organic Perennials), Victoria Riger Phillips (The Good Earth) and Sue Silva (Briar Rose Farm), questions were answered and information shared in a lively exchange.

The two remaining forums will offer topics especially pertinent to gardeners, farmers, and backyard growers. Scheduled over the next two months, the sessions are open to all. Refreshments will be served, and admission is free. Contact Kathy Lobb at 508-693-3638 for upcoming topics and dates.
