Five, four, three, two...
Island Theatre Workshop will open five one-act plays, by four directors, over two nights, for one unique theatre experience. Opening tonight at the Katharine Cornell Theatre in Vineyard Haven, are three of the five plays, with the other two shows running on alternate evenings this weekend and next.
Three comedies, "Here We Are," by Dorothy Parker; Anton Chekhov's "The Boor," both directed by Lee Fierro; and "Pass the Horseradish," directed by Leslie Stark, are grouped together. The second evening will feature "The Value of Names," directed by Kevin Ryan, and "Medea," by playwrights Christopher Durang and Wendy Wasserstein, and directed by Linda Berg.
"The Boor" with Gerry Yukevich and Sabrina Luening.
The cast list is long and includes many of the Island's favorite actors and a few surprises according to Lee Fierro. One-act plays are like short stories for the stage. Check out all the plays for one or two good nights of theatre.
