The New Orleans benefit concert last Sunday evening was one of powerful song sung and performed by five performing groups and a soloist. Vintage Voices of Martha's Vineyard, the First Parish UU Choir, the NAACP Spirituals Choir, the Island Community Chorus, and soloist Diane Taraz took the stage at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown. Their cause was the children of New Orleans and their music programs, specifically for the city's children's chorus, the St. Augustine Marching 100, and the Fredrick A. Douglas High School music program of the ninth ward.
