Saturday was gray and overcast, but just perfect for strolling along the harbor in Oak Bluffs. The annual Harbor Festival was a fun gathering, bringing together vendors, music lovers, and intrepid sailors in cardboard boats.

The vendors ranged with displays from a religious group to Island organizations such as the Rotary Club of Martha's Vineyard and the Figure Skating Club to people selling soap, tee-shirts, and art. The Oak Bluffs Senior Center quilt attracted lots of attention. The handmade quilt is being raffled off on July 30 with the money being used to help seniors pay their heating bills next winter.

The Sting Rays entertained after noon and Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish came on after 2 pm. Both groups have lots of fans and the patio next to Nancy's Restaurant was jumping. The Oak Bluffs Harbor Festival turned the gray skies blue last weekend. Check out the Solstice celebration on Thursday, June 21, 6:30 to 11 pm on Circuit Avenue, Oak Bluffs.
