Home sweet home

Thanks to Habitat for Humanity of Martha's Vineyard, this Saturday there will be a groundbreaking for another Island home to be built for a deserving family. The public is invited to attend the ceremony at 9 am. The lot is located on Andrews Road in Vineyard Haven. Habitat suggests you park on Vineyard Haven-Edgartown Road and walk to the site via Cook St. This is also an opportunity to sign up to volunteer, so speak with a Board member if you are interested. For more information, call 508-696-4646.

A taste of San Fran

At a place where fantasies come true, the Possible Dreams Auction has just kicked off another time-of-one's-life opportunity fund-raiser, in stride with the auction. This year's raffle, on sale now, is a trip to California for a "Taste of San Francisco," courtesy of Systems Applications and Products (SAP), a world-leading provider of business software. Sample the sites, restaurants, entertainment, and countryside, including Napa Valley. The "Dream Yourself a Dream Come True" raffle winner will also attend the SAP Open tennis tournament, where they will be a special guest with access to VIP lounges, clubs, and players for photographs. In addition, enjoy a round of golf at the Courdevalle Resort.

If San Francisco isn't on your top 100 places to visit, the raffle winner will have the choice between the getaway and $10,000. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold, and they are $100 each. Find them online at possibledreamsauction.org, at the Harborside Inn in Edgartown, Good Dog Goods and M.V. Community Services in Oak Bluffs, The Thrift Shop in Vineyard Haven, or at the auction.

Sweet and appetizing
