Those at the annual Feast of the Holy Ghost at the Portuguese American club held this past weekend experienced an array of wonderful food, weather, games, and company, as the Club honored Queen Isabella of Portugal.

Guests feasted on sopa, which is traditional meat and vegetable soup; linguica and cheese sandwiches; fresh-shucked quahogs; beef kabobs, which you grill yourself; traditional barbeque food such as hot dogs and burgers; pulled pork, and tasty chicken dinners.

The event is made possible by many volunteers, from ticket-sellers and quahog-shuckers to auction-runners and clean-up crew.

Julia Peters was the lucky recipient of the crown, which represents and honors Queen Isabella of Portugal, who sacrificed so much for her people.
