William J. Nicholson III

William J. Nicholson III, 61 of Oak Bluffs died on Oct. 2, at his home. A visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 8 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, Edgartown Road, Oak Bluffs. His funeral service will be Tuesday, Oct. 9, 11 am at Faith Community Church, Meeting House Road, Edgartown. A complete obituary will follow in a later edition of The Times. Paul A. Morrell

Paul Anthony Morrell, 59, of Amsterdam, N.Y., and Oak Bluffs, died peacefully on Sept. 21, at home surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

Paul was born on February 19, 1948, in Albany N.Y., to Robert Morrell and Patricia Tucci Morrell, both of whom predeceased him. Paul grew up and was educated in Amsterdam, N.Y. He was a 1965 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Sienna College in 1970. At one time he also served in the United States Army as a Medic.

Paul worked as a certified Information Systems Security Professional and was employed by the New York State Courts for over 30 years until retiring in 2005.

He leaves behind his loving family, his wife Linda Barker Morrell whom he married in 1968; his son, Joshua Morrell of Amsterdam, N.Y.; and daughter, Molly Morrell of Charlotte, N.C.; his brother, David Morrell and his wife Robin of Glen Cove, N.Y., and Edgartown; nephews, Matthew Morrell and Benjamin Morrell of Northport, N.Y., Joseph Piszczatowski of Glen Cove, N.Y., and Bryce Barker of Saranac Lake, N.Y.; his brother-in-law Len Barker; sister-in-law, Karla Barker; and aunts and cousins; as well as "the guys from the coffee shop".
