Pain relief workshop

Vineyard Complementary Medicine is offering a one-day seminar on CranioSacral Therapy, used to relieve pain and promote relaxation. Leader Malinda Mayer will demonstrate techniques that can be used on oneself and others to relieve headaches, reduce stress, and control pain. Participants will practice during the seminar. The workshop is on Sunday, Oct. 21, and will run from 9 am to 4:30 pm. Registration begins at 8:30 am, and the seminar costs $85.

Peace rally travels

Islanders who would like to take part in the multi-destination national peace rally in Boston on Oct. 27 have the opportunity to travel on a chartered bus with Cape Codders for Peace and Justice. The rally, organized by United Peace for Justice, coincides with rallies in Washington D.C., New York City, and other sites. Bus tickets are $20, and will leave from the Sagamore Bridge in Sagamore at 8:30 am. The bus will return around 6 pm to the bridge. Let's get cooking

LeRoux at Home wants to make you a better cook by offering weekly cooking demonstrations at their Vineyard Haven store. Each Wednesday, from Oct. 17 through Nov. 14, from 11 am to 1 pm, Island professionals will teach culinary techniques, whip up tasty treats, and let you sample the results.

English classes offered

Nancy Gardella will begin teaching ESL classes at the Edgartown Public Library beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 5:30 pm. The classes will continue weekly through Dec. 4. For more information, call 508-693-3308.
