With the theme of "LOL @ the Library" (that's laugh out loud for those of us that aren't part of the text nation), reference librarian Mathew Bose thought the Island's improv troupe would be the perfect group to entertain for Teen Read Week. So last Thursday, IMP and Sketchy Teens, under the direction of Donna Swift, brought their impromptu comedy act to the Oak Bluffs Public Library.

Children's librarian Irene Tewksbury said the event, sponsored by the American Library Association, was a way to reach out to young adults. Ms. Tewksbury is interested in forming a teen advisory group to work with the library staff on programming events, materials selection, and other avenues for teen-library interaction. Each Thursday afternoon from 3:15 to 4:30 pm, the library offers Dance, Dance, Revolution, a video game where players dance and move to music. Teens should check out the library for books, movies, and more.
