Short SubjectsWrite for children This holiday season, Featherstone Center for the Arts offers four decorating classes that teach an assortment of crafts for decoration. The first is on Saturday, Nov. 10. Taught by Lynn Hoeft, participants will learn how to make pomanders and centerpieces. The class is from 9 am to 12 noon. Ms. Hoeft will also teach a paper box and grapevine wreath class on Nov. 15 from 6 to 9 pm. Decorate your wreath with berries, moss and ribbons for a festive door or wall adornment. Ms. Hoeft concludes her holiday classes on Saturday, Dec. 1, with a woven Swedish star class. Also, learn to make paper cutout ornaments and tea-stain them to achieve an antique look. The fourth class offered is with Else Membreno, who will teach a holiday flower arrangement class on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10 am to 12 noon. All Ms. Hoeft's workshops are $45 each, and Ms. Membreno's class is $25. For more information or to pre-register for any class, call Featherstone at 508-693-1850. High school drama Vineyard Belly Dance and Revue will perform at the Edgartown Council on Aging (the Anchors) on Wednesday, Nov. 14. The show will close with Ms. Wells performing "Hava Nagila," and the audience will be invited to accompany her. The Anchors is located at 10 Daggett Street in Edgartown, across from the Chappy Ferry.
