Tisbury School teachers, students, and staff did kitchen duty and a lot more at last Friday evening's Pizza Night to benefit Martha's Vineyard Hospital. The school's cafeteria was crowded as the assembly line of teachers and volunteers cranked out the pizza. Students manned the dessert table, sold raffle tickets, painted faces, and bussed the tables too.
"The pizza sold out. It was busy but worth it," said Ann Williamson, a teacher and one of the organizers. "Island businesses donated everything," said a grateful Ms. Williamson.
All the money raised will go to the hospital. Each year the Tisbury School buys a piece of equipment for the hospital, but a decision about this year's donation has not been made. The school will continue to raise money for toward the donation, as part of its ongoing commitment to give back to the community.
