Astrology - Happy 2008...

By Arlan Wise - December 27, 2007

2008 begins with Mars in retrograde motion. He moved back into Gemini right before New Year's Eve and keeps on in reverse until January 30. His movement translates as a slow start to the year and sets the theme that nothing is going to happen too quickly this year. Both Jupiter and Pluto in Saturn's sign of Capricorn tell you that an attitude of good enough isn't good enough anymore; you have to apply effort to get the job done the right way. Saturn moving through the perfectionist sign of Virgo will make sure you pay attention to all the details. As a result, everything you do takes more time.

I wrote a Sun sign article to be published in the MV Times New Year's supplement. In it, you will read what the planets have in store for each sign. It reads as serious and a bit dour, but there are serious changes coming for every one. There's nothing easy about taking responsibility and facing life head on. Just remember that Venus will continue to spread her love and blessings as she moves around the zodiac and Jupiter will give you great opportunities for career advancement.

May you have a very happy and healthy 2008!

Thursday, Dec. 27 Moon in Leo, VC 9:54 pm. Let your creative side run the day. You can go on and on without tiring. You'll want to do everything "your way" and can't be told what to do. Everyone feels the same way you do, so let the kids enjoy their vacation and bend the rules a bit. Make this a special evening for you and your loved one.

Friday, Dec. 28 Moon in Virgo. It's a good day to do inventory and bring the year's work to a close. You can get quite a bit of good work done today. Be expansive in the morning hours, and be restrained in the afternoon. Make a list of your New Year's resolutions and add ones that take care of health and diet.

Saturday, Dec. 29 Moon in Virgo. You may want to continue on with yesterday's work. You want to bring things to completion. Help a friend or neighbor with a project. Buy craft supplies to keep you busy on long winter nights. Stock up on vitamins. Take a yoga class. Do the things that make you feel content and happy.

Sunday, Dec. 30 Moon in Virgo, VC from 8:08 am until 8:37 am when it goes into Libra. Have the holiday brunch or party today. There's good energy for socializing and you won't want to sit home. Venus moves into Sagittarius to lighten your relationship issues and let you have more fun. The sun and Saturn give stability to the day and tell you to count your blessings.

Monday, Dec. 31 Moon in Libra. Mars backs up into Gemini where he will remain for the next three weeks. He is in a volatile state so avoid conflict, especially with siblings and neighbors. It's time to communicate any information you've been holding back so you can start 2008 with a clean slate.

Tuesday, Jan. 1 Moon in Libra, VC from 7:33 pm until 8:32 pm when it enters Scorpio. Happy New Year! The moon's first contact of the year is a pleasant one with Neptune. Take this as an omen saying that there is a spiritual theme to the year. It will be an easy social day, the calm before the storm.

Wednesday, Jan. 2 Moon in Scorpio. Mars and Pluto, both rulers of the sign Scorpio, have a face-off today. This is a setup for major power struggles, both verbal and physical. Duck for cover. It's a day to mind your own business so you don't get in the midst of any crossfire. Don't be surprised if you feel old rage rise up.

Thursday, Jan. 3 Moon in Scorpio, VC 7:30 pm. There's sure to be emotional fallout from yesterday. Check the impulse to blame someone or to feel like the victim. It's easy to be self-righteous today. Better to put your energy into investigating the source of your upset-ness. Do some research into any medical conditions that you need to know more about.

Friday, Jan. 4 Moon VC Scorpio, enters Sagittarius 9:13 am. This is a good weekend to run away and play. Go somewhere you can be outdoors and enjoy winter sports. Call, write, or e-mail your friends who live in foreign countries and plan a visit. You can sell anyone anything today; use the energy to promote yourself or your cause.

Saturday, Jan. 5 Moon in Sagittarius. Find a course or workshop to learn something new or teach one if you have something to teach. Try to go beyond what you usually do or think and stretch yourself to master something new and hard. Be outdoors and stay active as much of the day as possible. Go to a foreign movie and eat an ethnic dinner.

Sunday, Jan. 6 Moon in Sagittarius, VC from 7:27 pm to 8:43 pm when it enters Capricorn. Venus and Saturn force you to look at your relationship and iron out any difficulties. You'll need to address what's lacking and whose needs are not being met. It's good energy for finishing an artistic project. The day demands that you do something that you think is avant-garde and a bit crazy.

Monday, Jan. 7 Moon in Capricorn. You need to do two days work today since the moon will be VC all day tomorrow. Try to complete the work you've been doing rather than start something new. Mercury moves into Aquarius to bring new ideas to your mind. Tonight is the first dark of the moon in 2008; create a special ceremony.

Tuesday, Jan. 8 Moon VC Capricorn. The new moon occurs early and then goes void for the rest of the day. Finish, complete, reduce, limit, and discard are the verbs to use today. Be efficient, not sentimental, and get rid of old papers, journals, receipts that clutter up your desk and the place where you work.

Wednesday, Jan. 9 Moon in Aquarius. Today is a good day to review your resolutions for 2008 and see if they are holding up to reality. It's an idea day, good for brainstorming sessions, discussions, and planning. Go online and find new sites for information that you can use. Write out applications, grant proposals, or go for an interview. Share your ideas.

Thursday, Jan. 10 Moon in Aquarius. Venus and Chiron dance today and encourage you to patch up any wounds or breaks in your relationships. Quiet down and let the answers come to you. You will think outside the box today. Exercise your mind with some good old science fiction movies. Check out the UFO shows on the History Channel.
