It's hot, it's spicy, it's fun
Get your taste buds ready and gear yourself up for a chili-crazed afternoon at the 22nd annual Big Chili Contest, this Saturday at the Portuguese-American Club in Oak Bluffs. Sponsored by WMVY Radio, the event raises money for the Red Stocking Fund.
At last year's fest, Catherine Holmes of Bourne was declared the winner of the 2008 T-Shirt Design Contest. Her artwork is featured on the contest poster (pictured here) and tee-shirts. Ms. Holmes also won tickets to this year's event and Island accommodations.
Chili contestants will be vying for honors including: "Hottest Chili," "Best Veggie Chili," "Most Traveled Chili," "Is It Really Chili," and "Best Presentation." Your vote counts! Taste the chili and cast your vote. Awards are announced at the end of the event, and then the celebrations begin, both for the victors and the vanquished.
The Big Chili Contest, Saturday, Jan. 26, 11 am to 3:30 pm, Portuguese-American Club, Vineyard Ave., Oak Bluffs.
