Astrology - Eclipse season...

By Arlan Wise - February 7, 2008

The two-week period between eclipses is a mixed-up time. It falls during a retrograde Mercury period this year, to double the confusion. Although you may feel ready to get down and make big change in your life and your work, you really must wait. Eclipses are indicators of endings, of the parts of life that are over and done with.

This eclipse season opened with the Solar eclipse on Feb. 6. It emphasized our dreams and fantasies and told us which ones will never come to reality. The energy builds towards the Lunar eclipse on Feb. 20, which is in Virgo near Saturn. It speaks of work. It is time to let go of the blocks and restrictions you have put on your work. Find a new job if you are unhappy. Learn how to be satisfied at work if you stick with what you are doing. Examine the connection between your health and our work. You can't get away with cutting any corners and any dicey behavior will have to stop.

Mercury goes into direct motion the evening of Feb. 18.

Thursday, Feb. 7 Moon in Aquarius, VC from 10:50 am until 8:46 pm when it enters Pisces. It's another day to spend in your mind, as you won't get much accomplished on earth. It is Chinese New Year, the year of the Rat. Mercury and Chiron meet to help you find a way to speak of your wounds. They give you fresh ideas on how to heal your old wounds.

Friday, Feb. 8 Moon in Pisces. You can't force anything today. Float above your distress and let the turmoil of the week calm down, like a pond smoothes out after the storm goes by. Volunteer some hours to help where there is need. It's a fertile moon for transplanting houseplants and starting seeds.

Saturday, Feb. 9 Moon in Pisces, VC 4:05 pm. Let this be a weekend to relax. It's a good time for a yoga and/or meditation retreat, a painting or music seminar, or getting lost in the woods by your self. You can do excellent research in a library or online. Tell yourself to remember tonight's dreams.

Sunday, Feb. 10 Moon in Aries. The sun meets up with Neptune to continue the spaced out feeling of the weekend. It will be a day of pure inspiration or full of illusions or both. Use the energy of the day to appreciate nature and beauty. Let your minds fill with fantasies. Act them out tonight.

Monday, Feb. 11 Moon in Aries, VC 8 pm. This is the last workweek under retrograde Mercury. Soldier on with your work and be sure to double-check everything. Proceed cautiously since you can't move as fast as you'd like without making mistakes. Do some physical activity to work off the frustrations. Stay active tonight.

Tuesday, Feb. 12 Moon in Taurus. You can get a lot done today if you work slowly and concentrate on the bottom line. You will be able to get a clear sense of what to do to conserve your assets. Work on your artistic projects. It's a fertile moon for planting and a sensuous moon for pampering your body.

Wednesday, Feb. 13 Moon in Taurus. It's another down to earth day when you need to continue on with what you started yesterday. You'll find a bargain when you shop for Valentine's Day gifts, but don't get stressed about it. You may feel a conflict between your ideas and the reality of implementing them into form. Have an early to bed night.

Thursday, Feb. 14 Moon in Gemini. There is good mental energy today. Think back to January 30 when Mars went into direct motion. You'll see what can be sustained and what must change. People are ready to release pent-up frustration so don't provoke a situation. You may have to check to see if your Valentine's Day flowers were delivered. Old loves will be in your mind and may show up to reconnect.

Friday, Feb. 15 Moon in Gemini. Slow down your mind and double-check the past week's work. You'll find mistakes due to distractions. It's hard to control your mind on a day like today, though you will have some brilliant thoughts. Write them down to use later on. Catch up on phone calls and correspondence. Empty your e-mail inbox.

Saturday, Feb. 16 Moon VC Gemini, enters Cancer 10:12 am. Sleep late this morning. Stay in bed reading until the moon changes signs. It's a home and family weekend. Think about what home improvements you want to undertake this year. Play with the thought of moving somewhere different. Spend the evening with family members.

Sunday, Feb. 17 Moon in Cancer, VC 4:13 pm. Venus enters Aquarius where she becomes cold but very smart. She shows you a bigger picture of your relationship. Have brunch with the friends who feel like family. Call Mom and check up on family news. Browse the seed catalogs and make a list of what to order.

Monday, Feb. 18 Moon VC Cancer, enters Leo 1:51 pm. Use the morning for sleeping late and cleaning the house and office. Cook up the leftovers into a soup. The energy picks up in the afternoon and peaks when Mercury goes direct at 9:57 pm! Today is the last day of Aquarius, which has given you the vision to see the big picture.

Tuesday, Feb. 19 Moon in Leo. The sun enters Pisces at 1:50 am, bringing us to the last month of winter and last month of the zodiacal year. You still need to wait a few days to launch major initiatives since tomorrow's eclipse can negate new beginnings. Take time to play and hug and kiss. Smile at everyone you see.

Wednesday, Feb. 20 Moon in Leo, VC 12:53 to 7:06 pm when it enters Virgo. There is a lunar eclipse tonight that peaks at 10:30 pm. If it is clear, try to see it. Work hard this morning as your creative juices are flowing. Take the afternoon to play with kids, play with friends, or take yourself back to your childhood in some way.

Thursday, Feb. 21 Moon in Virgo. It's back to work and time to clean up the mess made in the past three weeks. You can work long and hard and with a clear mind. It will feel good to think straight again. Make appointments for health care, pet care, and car care. Order your work supplies.
