Chilmark concert adds art

After a successful run of winter concerts, Ballyhoo and other Island musician friends will gather for another concert and potluck supper at the Chilmark Community Center on Saturday, Feb. 23. For the first time, Nina Gomez Gordon of Cobalt Fine Art will install a group show of local Island artists during the event. She is currently looking for submissions of the theme "music." All media will be considered, and the deadline is Friday, Feb. 22. For more information, call Nina at 508-693-5895 or e-mail her at nina@cobaltfineart.com.

Sonnenthal's snapshots

For her latest art exhibit, Valerie Sonnenthal is asking Islanders to participate. Submit one of your own old photographs for her show, which will be at Featherstone Center for the Arts from Friday to Sunday, March 7 to March 9, with a closing party on Sunday, from 2 to 4 pm. All photographs must be prints no larger than 4 by 6 inches, and can be retrieved at the closing party. Ms. Sonnenthal encourages you to write a few sentences about your photograph. For more information, call 508-627-9707.
