Artist of the month
Dan Waters has his artwork on display for the month of March at the West Tisbury library. See him in person and his animal block prints at an opening reception on Wednesday, March 12, at 5 pm. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call the library at 508-693-3366.
One-act festival
Save the dates for Island Theatre Workshop's next production: their second annual one-act festival that opens next Friday, March 14. During the two-weekend long festival, three directors show four plays. Lee Fierro presents two shows: "Aria da Capa" by Edna St. Vincent Millay, and "Extensions" by Murray Schisgal. Kevin Ryan directs Frederick Stroppel's "Domestic Violence." Leslie J. Stark directs "This Seat is Occupied," by Susan Shafer. The one-acts are at 7:30 pm on March 14-16, and also March 21-23. The Boss was here
On Tuesday, Feb. 26, Bill Wharton, otherwise known as the Sauce Boss, played and cooked for a crowd at Offshore Ale in Oak Bluffs. Mr. Wharton performed with band members Big Jim and Magic John, drummer and guitarist, respectively. After hours of singing and cooking, the Boss served up a huge pot of freshly made gumbo to the lively group.
Free family movie
The Edgartown Federated Church will host a free movie evening on Sunday, March 9, from 4 to 6 pm. Showing is Disney's High School Musical 2. Admission is free; popcorn and lemonade will be served.
