Civility among the ghosts and goblins
To the Editor:
The morning after Halloween, "The Today Show" aired a segment called "Is Civility Dead?", chronicling all the ill (I'd like to use a stronger word, but...) behavior these days, from TV's talking heads to the Internet to the school yard.
But on Halloween, at least at our house, the parade of trick-or-treaters showed that civility is alive and well. We heard "Thank you" over and over; no pushing, no shoving to get to the candy basket. Just those words, which say a lot.
