FUTBAL, FOOTBALL, IT'S STILL soccer
Last Thursday the lead team of the Martha's Vineyard Football Association (soccer), the Atlantic Football Club, got by a stubborn Coop de Ville squad, 2-1. AFC goals were by Torbelly Assis and Alex Hull. Ibrahim Kalla scored for the Coop.
Later the same evening, Shirley's Hardware and Sports Haven played to a 1-1 tie. Tom Shocky scored for Shirley's; Nicholas Shrady was credited with the one goal for Sports Haven.
Wednesday, Sports Haven scored three times to Monto Orthopedics once. Declan McBride, Nick Turner and Tom Shockey did the damage for Sports Haven. Charlie DeWill scored for Monto's.
Also Wednesday, MV Celtic topped Coop de Ville, 2-1 on a pair of goals by Alex Poole, Giles Welch put the Coop on the board.
