Martha's Vineyard Home & Design : Building Shelter
Building Shelter
Cosgrove House
This modestly scaled vacation home, designed by Patrick Cosgrove, was conceived as a series of three pavilions - two sleeping areas on either end of an open-plan living area. By breaking the program into three separate spaces the home's visual impact is diminished and zoning constraints & neighbors' views are respected. Adding to the effect, the home is constructed to seemingly float just above, and without intruding on, the beautiful native landscape.
