Building Shelter

Custom-Designed Efficiency / Furniture

The purpose of this furniture is to utilize useful space that is often neglected. The benefits are to:
1
)  Maximize the use of costly enclosed and heated space in the home;
2)  Increase efficient use of space;
3)  Effectively use the existing space so smaller homes requiring fewer resources are required;
4)  Decrease clutter.

Cube (images 1-4)
This piece is a seat, twin bed, recliner, and storage unit.  The cushions, removeable via Velcro, reveal a table to be used in the Asian way - with the cushions as seats and the revealed cherry wood top serving as a table.  This is ideal for very small spaces such as cottages and city lofts.

Console and Cube Chairs (images 5-8)
The background console, crafted of ash wood, is a work in progress.  It offers a place to display objects of interest while at the same time secretly hiding the sound system, TV, Xbox, CD’s and DVD within.  In the foreground are two ottomans that convert to additional seating and provide extra storage space within, also executed in ash wood.

Bed (images 9 & 10)
Below the bed is a pull-out cherry drawer that houses bedding and pull out cherry nightstands.
