Not All Water Views Are Salty
Once in a while, the opportunity to reclaim and rehabilitate an important but modest Vineyard property comes along. This mid-1800's house overlooks a millpond with granite dam and spillway, its grain mill still partly in place. Re-orienting it to capture stunning pastoral views, exposing the original frame to stabilize its "bones", adding a dramatic octagonal master suite and combining details like reclaimed chestnut floors and new, large windows allowed a new lease on life for this hidden old up-Island jewel.
