This rural American Bistro specializes in fresh flavors and local seafood and produce. Chilmark is still a dry town so, if you’d like to begin with a drink BYOB applies, but there are some great ‘elixers and mixers’ on the menu. Drinks are prepared at the bar using the alcohol you bring with you – we favor the Basil and Lime Martini.
The menu is sophisticated, but not unapproachable. We highly recommend beginning with the Menemsha Mussels with house cured smoked bacon, herbs, garbanzos, white wine and gremolata. There are a variety of protein options for the main course, as well as vegetarian (and even a vegan!) choices but we return again and again to the Braised Pork with poblano & jalapeno chile verde, cabbage salad, charred scallion cream, cilantro and naan. And…save room for the Olive Oil Bundt Cake with drunken berries!
If you’re boating it, the good folks here will gladly pick you up from the docks in Menemsha (when possible) and bring you to the tavern to enjoy dinner, then return you to the dock when you are ready. Please call 508.645.9400 well in advance to arrange.
