West Tisbury Town Hall Renovation : 10/8/08
A groundbreaking ceremony was celebrated recently by general contractor, J.K. Scanlan Company, Inc., for the West Tisbury Town Hall renovation and expansion. This 5.4 million dollar renovation will overhaul and expand the historic mansard-roofed building in the center of town. The scope of renovation work includes construction of a 792-square-foot, three-story addition with an elevator, four rest rooms and a second stairway, addition of twenty parking spaces, renovation of the exterior of the existing building, replacement of the granite foundation with concrete and the replacement of all windows. The use of manmade materials for reconstruction will assist in retaining the original authentic look of natural wood products in the finished project. Among the local officials who joined in were representatives from the building committee, architects Antonia Kenny and John Keenan of Keenan & Kenny Architects Ltd, and the general contractor J.K. Scanlan Company, inc. represented by president, John Scanlan, project executive Craig Gabri, project manager Seth Adams, superintendent Jim Hudson, and assistant project manager Judy Audette. The project is scheduled to be complete in July 2009.
