The Boo-gies

On Halloween, at Outerland's final show, The Boogies ruled the night. Martha's Vineyard's popular disco cover band performed with their trademark dynamism and flair to a packed house last Friday. The costumes were spectacular and the dancing was wild.

Adopting a political theme for their Halloween performance, The Boogies looked uncharacteristically pedestrian without their glittering leotards and afro wigs.

Martha's Vineyard Regional High School Performance Day

On Thursday, Oct. 30, the members of the Performing Arts Department classes at the regional high school participated in Performance Day. The groups that took the PAC stage throughout the morning included Chorus, Theatre I, II, Musical Theatre Production, Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Orchestra. Teachers, students, and the public were treated to a wide range of musical selections, scenes from the Greek tragedy "Antigone," an original play, "Letters," and an historic review of musical theatre.

Organic sound

Though the church's organ is due for restoration, Peter Boak played a harmonious concert on it this past Sunday, Nov. 2. The event was held to raise money for the Federated Church's Steeple Fund. He played on the Hook and Hastings organ that was made in 1895.
