Family-style dinner
Things were bustling at Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Martha's Vineyard this past Thursday, Nov. 20, at 5:30 pm, when the families of residents filled the dining room and activities room for the annual holiday dinner. Over 100 people attended the Harvest Buffet, prepared by the Windemere kitchen staff, headed by Chris Porterfield. Adding to the festive sounds was the Sound Waves, a women's a cappella octet from the Cape. Windemere's Alzheimer's program director Mary Holmes noted, "What's wonderful about our dinners is that they are opportunities for families to sit down together. They don't get to do that often."
