A good spirit

The annual Spirit of the Vineyard Award is given to an individual or group who exemplifies the "Spirit of the Vineyard" through their work with Island nonprofit organizations. On Saturday morning, Nov. 29, Tisbury resident Melinda Loberg was recognized for her many volunteer efforts. She serves as president of Tisbury Waterways, Inc. and the Tisbury Volunteer Ambulance Association, an emergency medical technician (EMT), a Dukes County Commissioner, Hospice of Martha's Vineyard board member. State Representative-Elect Tim Madden presented Ms. Loberg with a citation from the Commonwealth. Following a long list of speakers paying her tribute, the modest award winner spoke briefly to those attending.
