Teada at the Cornell Theatre
The renowned Irish group Teada will perform at the Katharine Cornell Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 pm. The Irish Christmas Concert, part of the KCT Concert series, will feature traditional tunes enlivened by modern arrangements. Teada, led by Sligo fiddler Oisin Mac Diarmada, has toured internationally for several years, becoming one of Ireland's most respected bands.
Life at Playhouse
"It's A Wonderful Life," the radio play by Philip Grecian continues its run at the Vineyard Playhouse. Based on the film by Frank Capra, the play tells the classic story of George Bailey, who pursues the American dream in the turbulent economic landscape of the 1940s. Fairy tale opera
Humperdinck's opera "Hansel und Gretel" will be the next installation of the Capawock Theatre's Sunday opera and ballet series. The performance from the Glyndebourne Festival, in East Sussex, England, will be screened in high definition on 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm on December 21 and 28. Tickets are $20; $18 for seniors and students with an ID.
A night to reflect
The 12th annual Reflections of Peace concert was held last Thursday night in memory of Jean O'Brien and Peter Williamson. A celebration of and benefit for Hospice of Martha's Vineyard, the concert at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Oak Bluffs showcased music by many Islanders such as Rebecca Barca-Tinus, Peter Boak, the Katama Trio, and Jeremy Berlin. Kevin Ryan, part of the group Novum, organized and directed the concert.

It's beginning to look a lot like...
During Christmas in Edgartown this past weekend, the streets were filled with holiday festivities, decorations, and sounds. Organized by the Edgartown Board of Trade, the shops, businesses, and restaurants from one end of town to the other, planned events to make the season fun for the family.
