Matthew Seklecki of Vineyard Haven was recently named a resident assistant for the Office of Student Life at St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vt. Matthew is the son of Daniel Seklecki and Catherine MacDonald of Vineyard Haven.
Dr. Michelle McCrumb of Heel and Sole Podiatry in West Tisbury, recently attended an update of General Internal Medicine for the Sup-specialist, sponsored by Harvard Medical School.
Island Alpaca Company recently won two blue ribbons at the 2009 Symposium and Fleece Event in Syracuse, N.Y. for fleece submissions. The farm also won three ribbons for fiber arts entries by Philippe Morin, Anna Marie D'Addarie, and Karen Malizia.

Laila E. Branca
Kerry and Bobby Branca of Edgartown announce the birth of their daughter, Laila Elizabeth Branca, on February 16 at Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Laila weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces.
Floreana J. Greene
Anna and Jim Greene of West Tisbury announce the birth of their daughter, Floreana Jade Greene, on February 18 at Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Floreana weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces, and joins sister Tikopia.
Evren P. McCarthy
Jeremiah and Catherine McCarthy of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of their son, Evren Patrick McCarthy, on February 19 at Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Evren weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces.
Alishay M. Johnson
Brigelle Gibson and Moe Johnson of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of their daughter, Alishay Marie Johnson, on February 21 at Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Alishay weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces.

Shawna Medeiros and John O'Donnell of Oak Bluffs announce their engagement. Shawna is the daughter of Tracy and Patty Medeiros of Vineyard Haven. John is the son of Bruce and Valerie O'Donnell of Oak Bluffs. A May 2011 wedding is planned.
