Money Shot: Like watching your friends jam - no fuss and easy. This blue-collar four-piece outfit delivers an aerobic show ripping across a 30-year span of rock and roll anthems. Somewhere in all the jumping around there's a hint of glamorous aggression that's infectious. Friday at The Wharf in Edgartown.

Pat Guadagno: New Jersey folk rocker specializing in full-bodied renditions of Bob Dylan tunes. A graceful guitarist and vocalist who tours the world with a range and delivery to make you misty-eyed and bring you to your feet. Friday and Saturday night at The Dive Bar in Oak Bluffs.

John Bateman Band: A tight set of solid rock 'n' roll tunes, covering all the bases. Bring someone to twirl. Friday and Saturday at Mediterranean in Oak Bluffs.

Three Legged Men: Possibly the raunchiest band ever to thump a conga drum. Folk-rock trio delivering dirty sex in sweet harmonies and improvised melodies. Listen closely, or you might think they're singing about sunsets and apple picking - they're not. Probably not the show for a first date. Or your mom's birthday. Tuesdays at the Lampost in Oak Bluffs.

Jeremy Berlin and Eric Johnson: Oh so cool. Soulful jazz on electric piano and upright bass. Background music that floats into the foreground with nuanced musicianship, natural chemistry, and richly textured arrangements. Tuesdays at Offshore Ale Co. in Oak Bluffs.

Night sounds highlights live music on the Island each week.
